Organizing FAQs
FAQs are grouped by category on the public-facing page. Within each category, questions appear in the order you set.
Grouping Strategy
Organize your FAQs around user needs:
- Getting Started — Common setup and onboarding questions
- Features — How specific features work
- Account — Billing, access, and account management
- Troubleshooting — Common problems and solutions
Writing Effective FAQs
Questions
- Write questions in the first person from the user's perspective
- Use natural language — "How do I..." rather than "Method for..."
- Be specific — "How do I reset my password?" not "Password issues"
Answers
- Lead with the answer — Don't bury the key information
- Keep answers concise — 2-4 sentences for simple questions
- Use formatting for longer answers — bullet points, numbered steps
- Include links to full articles for complex topics
SEO Benefits
The FAQ page is automatically optimized with FAQPage structured data (JSON-LD), which can make your FAQs appear as rich results in Google search.
Tip: Well-written FAQs with structured data can significantly boost your search visibility. Google may display your questions and answers directly in search results.
